Instructor

David Robinson is an accomplished motorcyclist, with over 20 years of teaching experience. A founder member of Camrider, he holds the coveted RoSPA gold certificate. David is a full member of the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) for all categories - car, motorcycle and commercial vehicles. He was an observer with the local I.A.M. group when based in Cambridge, tutoring many associate members to full I.A.M. membership level for both cars and motorbikes.

A.D.I.

David is also a registered Instructor with the Road Safety Authority and is qualified to provide tuition having passed all required examinations for car (U-Drive.ie) and motorcycle.

Tuition

Training is given in 2-hour modules for basic, pre-test and advanced lessons. Material covered varies according to customer requirements and experience.

I.B.T. (Initial Basic Training)

Pro-Rider, together with twowheeltraining, will be conducting I.B.T. courses as of 6th December 2010. You must successfully complete 16 hours of the I.B.T. course in order to validate your learner permit. Riders are not allowed onto the road before having completed this unless they acquired their learner permit before 6th December.

Basic

A basic lesson entails an introduction to motorcycle contrlol, appropriate equipment to use and hazard perception.

Pre-test

This course aims to bring the candidate up to test level and entails following a typical test route, using the correct procedures and requirements.

Advanced Training

New for 2010, Pro-Rider now offers an Advanced Training course for experienced riders only. Using the Motorcycle Roadcraft handbook, the course incorporates a systematic approach to hazards and covers high speed overtakes, negotiating bends and low speed manouveres.
